Pumpkin Carving

March 20, 2016

Pumpkin Carving

Lots of fun all Autumn long!

Start by drawing the design on the pumpkin in a marker pen.  Cut the top of the pumpkin off and hollow it out (this is the messy part that the kids love!).  Scoop all of the seeds and as many of the stringy bits out as possible.  Once hollowed out, cut out the shapes and patterns you have drawn on the outside of the pumpkin.  Parental supervision is dfeninitely recommended!  You can buy great plastic carving tools from most toy shops or supermarkets around Halloween.  Once you have your finished design, place a tea-light candle inside and light it once it gets dark.  Place the lid of the pumpkin back on the top and hey presto!
Happy halloween!
